Corruption means adopting unfair means for achieving personal gain by some people, particularly those who are in administrative in power. It is a social malady.Corruption becoming unbridled day by day. People become corrupt mainly out of greed for money, wealth and power.There is hardly any sphere of daily life where there is no practice of corruption.Businessmen, lawyers, doctors, service holders, politicians, engineers and teachers are not free from corruption.Corruption has a cancerous effect on our society and the country.Corruption destr the character of a society.It has grasped our society like the octopus.Our national development lags behind for this heinous crime.Corruption is one of the major causes of sky-high income-discrimination.The corrupts are like vampires who suck the blood of the people including those who belong to the grass-root level. Not a single ampoule of life-saving injection is available without bribe in the public hospitals.It is no more unknown to the nation that many houses in the capital city are owned by fourth-class employees of hospitals, airports, customs/tax department, sub-inspectors and even police sentries or the cleaners of prisons.Although it is not easy to root out corruption, necessary steps should be taken immediately to stop it.The mass media can play a significant role to concern the matter to the people in this regard.The common people of the country should also raise their voice against corruption.Anti-corruption Commission has been working relentlessly to ablish corruption from all heres of life.But its success depends on the willineness of the government to let it work independently and give it all types of support it needs.
